Random Ramblings...

Hi Dolls! I'm pulling double duty today with two posts...this one kinda random, but I do random REALLY well! I have finished my Rosette Swap package, Jill at Gypsy Brocante paired swap partners last week and I was pleasantly pleased with my partner. She set it up to be a surprise for the recipient to not know who their partner is until they recieve their package! Which I think really adds to the fun!

Just a tease of my creation for the swap...I love how it all came together, very DRAMATIC, which I happen to LOVE! I hope my partner will love it too! Stay tuned...on September 1st the big REVEAL will take place here and amongst all of the participants of the swap.

Now for the random...my work table (sorry for the shadows it was raining and kinda dark). I have been struggling somewhat with my creativity in the sense that there is so much to do in the rest of life and so little time to do it ALL! I am sure all of you creatives out there struggle to find the balance as well. I just feel I need to be in my studio accomplishing and producing but often that calls for leaving the dishes, the laundry, unpaid bills, a dusty, messy house, errands undone, phone calls not returned...shall I go on? It blocks me artistically when feel like I'm neglecting everything else in order to create.
If only it didn't feel like an ongoing tug o' war...the have to's, the need to's, the want to's. Aww...so is the life of a creative artistic and all the complicated issues that go with it. How to be all to everything...? That is the question.

Okay Dearies, next random...one of my frustrations is tea/coffee stained tags. Mine seem to be warped, wrong color, not aged enough, etc. etc. Do share if you know of a great technique to achieve that really aged darker than tea stained look...see above, I like those but even more of an ancient look would be perfect! I am wondering if there is something else to be used other than soaking in a coffee/tea solution.? PLEASE your input would be GREATLY appreciated! Until the next round of rambling be well.

Crazy Gypsy Love!
xoxo

Oooohhh,
Is it wrong for me to wish that I'm the recipient of your gorgeous rosette?! ;~)
I love your beautiful work space, I wish mine looked that good! I know what you mean that creating sometimes takes over other things, I think that there is just too much going on in everyone's life for it not to affect something. But your creations are just fabulous!! I love your spoon bracelets, I wished I knew how you got them so flat.
As for the gift tags, sometimes I use coffee instead of tea, but the tags are always a little darker in some places than others. Also, I place mine in between some really heavy books to flatten them a bit. I think yours look fine though!
Have a great day.
Sincerely,
Melinda

...ahhh ~ NO WAY Melinda!! I'm calling that fabo rosette to me!!!

~ and I'm simply swooning over your studio "create desk"!

I only use walnut crystals on my grunge tags and looove the results it gives EVERY SINGLE TIME! I also dry mine in a low temp oven to give them that good and grungy look!!
Give it a try and see if you don't love the results too:)

btw ~ I've been spying with my little eye, facinatin` stuffs for the gypsy circus...

I use a rich brew of instant coffee, let them soak for 5-10 minutes, then dry in a warm oven or outside in the sun, but then I have to chase them all over the yard...but if that's the least I have to worry about, so be it...good luck and what a fun blog!!!

PS...I use the same brew for my samplers, lampshades(spray it on) or any old fabric that needs grungin'...
